Since 1989 California Progress, Inc. (CPI) has played an important role in the community of California, Missouri, with its dedication
and commitment to saving historic landmarks and bringing new life to this vibrant and unique Missouri town located in the heart of Moniteau County, just 22 miles west of Jefferson City. The non-profit {501 (c) (3)} community betterment group — established by community leaders as a way to enhance and beautify the town’s many special features — Moniteau County Library building, several parks, Moniteau County Historical Society, Finke Theater, store fronts on Oak Street in the Old Town. |

Under the leadership of its Board of Directors, CPI’s mission today is preserving and revitalizing California’s historic assets, fostering local business success and promoting tourism and community pride for the benefit of the California, Missouri community. The Board and its many volunteers work to identify opportunities within California for preservation and improvement and then develops a path forward for development and implementation of those opportunities. |
Having merged, CPI acts as the parent organization and board of directors for Old Town California.
